Melbourne 2006

Well, we are now in Melbourne! The trip started yesterday at 6:08pm when Jared and I left Cabarlah after work. I did a piano lesson on the way to Ipswich, where we stayed the night at Alan's place. Got up at 4am, did some Bible reading and devotional time, breakfast and off to the airport at 5:30am. Arrived about 6:15 am, self checked in, booked in luggage, went through metal detectors, boarded the plane and departed about 7:40am.

Wow! Had never been on a plane before! I really enjoyed it. Was like using Google Earth. Take off and landing are the most fun. And you go real fast along the runway.

So we arrived at the airport at 10:45 am Melbourne time (1hr later than Bris time). Was a bit cloudy. Caught a taxi to nearest trian station and caught the train in to Flinders St station. Checked in to the Greenhouse backpackers, only 100m from the station. Lots of trams.

Got sorted out and had lunch down on the Yarra river. Weather is perfect. Probably about 22 degrees C and light cool breeze and nice warm sun. Clear skies! I'll put a few photos of the trip so far up on this site in a day or two.

From here, just some touring around the CBD, and prepare for the conference which goes from Thursday night to Sunday lunch. May God be with each person involved in the conference. Looking forward to some challenging Christian talks and workshops, and meeting some great friends.
